INDIANA / KITFOX

I received my kit in October of 2002 but was unable to start work on it until late 2003. During the next 4 years I invested 812 hours in completion of my first homebuilt airplane. I completed N474DP on October 21st 2007, submitted paperwork to the FAA on October 22, received my Special Airworthiness Certificate on December 12th and flew for the first time on December 26th.  N474DP is a Kitfox Series 7 Sport and it is powered by a Rotax 912ULS with a 3 blade GSC prop. It is setup for day/night VFR only. It is certified as AB Experimental but is LSA eligible (1320 lbs. max gross weight, etc)  Because of the folding wings, I was able to complete the aircraft in my shop at home and transport it to the airport as a complete project.  I received help from too many people to list, but most notably John & Debra McBean, Murle Williams, and the Matronics Email Forum.  My EAA technical counselor was Kevin Bower.
