Kirk Hull & Al Brown
MISSOURI / KITFOX
After 10 years from Kit purchase and with the expertise
help from several people, Kirk Hull son and co-owner, my
friend George Craft, and EAA tech counselor Jim Pickett
our Kitfox Classic 4 was flown for the 1st
time on June 25, 2006 by Tim Craft, who also flew the
remaining 40 hours of the flight test program.
Performance is just great with the 4cyl, 100 hp EA-81
Subaru, Stratus conversion auto engine which has a 2.2
to 1 belt drive reduction. Swinging a 70” 3 blade Warp
Drive prop with 17.5 degrees pitch (at tip), and at
3700Engine RPM the airplane cruises at 95 MPH and sips
approx 3.25 GPH. The dual Bing carburetors are altitude
compensating. A very stable airplane, which sports not
one trim tab!
